Sept 2019 New Term Blog!

What’s the story…? The Dublin School of Music blog. 9nd Sept 2019

Welcome back! It’s full steam ahead here as the new term got going last week!

This term all of our students will receive a welcome pack. It contains our calendar for the year, some information about the various camps we will be running during the school holidays throughout the year, a welcome letter and more information about the school and our commitment to you. As usual, if you have any queries about anything in the pack, please ask.

Now, as we get going, a quick word on music grades. Although by no means a requirement for our students, studying grades is widely considered to be the best way to proficiency in your chosen instrument. Taking grades gives the student a series of benchmarks as their skill develops, and targets to work towards as their ability improves. Our experienced and highly trained teachers can provide grades in classical music (RIAM or ABRSM), electric or acoustic guitar (RGT or Rockschool) and piano, guitar and singing in contemporary music (Sounds Great from the Academy of Modern Music). Please ask us about what type of grades might be suitable for you. No time like the present to get started!

On the subject of grades, just to mention that the closing dates for applying for the next window of exams is at the end of September (1st of October for RGT students). No panic yet, but something to keep in mind.

As you can imagine, it’s all very busy right now, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I would just once again like to welcome you all, old and new to our new term. We look forward to providing you with the highest standard of music education across the course of the year.

Please keep an eye out further blogs over the coming weeks and if you haven’t already, please follow our Instagram & Twitter channels for more news about what’s going on this term.

Thanks for reading, see you all soon!
